Ironic contempt

So front page headline today in the Express Tribune is :
Zardari signs contempt of court amendment bill
earlier while the national assembly debated the bill 'Soon after the bill was passed, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) protested against the passing of the bill, causing a ruckus in the house.'

Rewind nearly 15 years ago and here is the DAWN  headline
NA amends Contempt of Court Act
'The leader of the opposition Benazir Bhutto and a couple of other
PPP MNAs opposed the bill. Just before the bill was put before the
House for passage, the PPP members walked out in protest.'

DAWN goes on to explain the reasons why the government of the time wanted to pass the bill:
'to stop the Chief Justice of the
Supreme Court .. to take any final decision
against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and others involved in the
contempt of court case'
